5 Easy Ways to Cleanse Your Energy

The purpose of cleansing energy is to clear out accumulated energy that doesn't belong to you or that you do not want clogging up the vibes around you anymore.
Maybe energy that has come from other people is lingering and we want to shake ourselves off from it but it can also be that the energy from recent experiences has built up and we want to sweep those on out in order to make way for something fresh. Cleansing the energy around us can support us in feeling clearer ourselves, it can create that feeling of 'oh there I am'.
By clearing the energy, you are sending away the 'not this' or the 'not mine' and connecting you back with you and good things always happen from there...
1. Smudge
Light some smudging herbs like white sage and sweetgrass and gently waft it around the rooms your use in your home. If you haven't got any smudging herbs, you can light some incense instead. As you light your smudge, do it with intention, say out loud or in your head, 'Spirit, clear this energy now and allow for more peacefulness, grounding and clarity. Thank you'. This is one of my favourite ways to reset the vibes in my own home.
2. Step outside.
Go for a walk. Fresh air is an instant way to clear your own energy and ease away any wonky or stale energies you've picked up recently. If the weather is unappealing, just open the windows and let the air blow in. Fresh air, fresh spirit!
3. Soak in water.
Relax in a bath, take a shower or even go for a swim. Water is a powerful cleanser and it doesn't just wash your skin, it purifies your mind and spirit too! It's good for the soul. Another easy, instant way to restore your sense of self.
4. Reduce, reduce, reduce.
Reduce where your attention is going, such as answering every text message or scrolling through social media, as well as pairing back your calendar if it is over filled. Cut back where your energy is flowing. Create quiet time for peace, stability and grounding. This is the ultimate cleanser because it creates space and in that space your energy will naturally rebalance. By reducing what is coming into your energy field, you will have more room for your own energy to expand, it can fill your body, press into your skin and out into the room and flow into the world again. Reducing helps you have less of everything and everyone else and more of your thoughts, your feelings, your energy, more of you.
5. Listen to your intuition.
Your body is always communicating with you - what feels icky? Or sticky? Or uncomfortable? It might be a certain person, it could be a food or drink, it might be certain tv shows or music. If it feels off, don't over-analyse why, just trust that vibe and step back from it. And listen to what your body is drawing you towards. What does your body need right now? What does your heart need? Put one hand on your heart or stomach, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths... Ask yourself, "What do you need?". Honour the answer. Speaking it out loud is the best way you can honour, respect and show trust to your intuition, so be vocal and then follow through.
